Spartans and the Big Ten Rankings...

Only Five  Games left… Spartans have allowed other Big Ten teams to have a shot at the championship rather than wrap it up themselves… there is still a whole bunch of basketball to be played… And ther outcome is anyones guess...

Before I get started: The Spartans are #1 in the Big Ten, SPartyMSU has them at #2 in teh Big Ten.. They are ranked in the Top Ten nationally… I Love my Spartans.. But……

The Spartans hold their own destiny.. at times this season they have lacked both an identity and cohesion.  And I don’t know why..  Could it have been Nix’s inability to lose enough weight to properly move his feet or hit free throws ??  Could it have been Korie’s lack luster passing game ??  Or the whole team’s turn over margins..?? Could it have been the overall team discord made visible with Kalin’s mid season ejection from practice ??  Could it have been the teams inability to play to their, not their opponents potential… ?? Inability to put the pedal, to the metal and crush another team ???  Something was up..   Lets hope the win at Penn State put all that bull shit behind us, and we’re moving forward…

Some positives:  Preseason #2… need to regain the momentum and the expected position of dominance..  Garrick Sherman is turning out to have huge upside potential… Austin Thornton is also an unexpected asset…  Allen,  Summers, Roe, Raymar can run Hot and Cold, but no questions these guys are some of the best players in the nation..  Mr. Green and Mr. Lucas are the leaders, and without them, not sure how far the team would go..

Winning out, does not guarantee a Big Ten title..  This is no easy task, since the Spartan quality wins are only Gonzaga and Jan 6 win over Wisconsin.  

Coming up -  Spartans play two Top Ten teams: OSU and Purdue.. And they have to beat Purdue..at Purdue, while Ohio State is at Breslin..

Projected Games and outcomes:
* At Indiana: Win… Big Win..
* Ohio State: Win… Close game, but win 76 - 69
* At Purdue: Win.. Spartans pull an upset in West Lafayette 67- 65
* Penn State: Win… Big Win..
* Michigan: Let the Spanking begin… MSU 106 – UofM 72

Hope we’re right..

Just that.. When so much is expected.. When we, as fans see so much talent and potential.. Its hard to see some of the loses .. but, that’s College Hoops..
