Looking Ahead to NFL 2011
Who cares about the offseason, possible coaching changes, or even a couple of free agent signings?
On to the thing everybody’s been waiting for, 2011 Vegas Super Bowl Champion odds! Now, you’re probably thinking to yourself, isn’t it a little early to be thinking about 2011? However, it’s never to early to start thinking about next season because the NFL is always so excited. So, here are the analyzed odds (by me) from best to worst if you care to place a wager (you know, if betting were legal).
6-1 = Indianapolis Colts – The returning Super Bowl runner up’s look to be bringing back most of their talent from last year’s run. Unfortunately, it looks like that list may include Hank Baskett. There is the Super Bowl loser’s curse, however, and even though the Colts look amazing when the whole team is clicking, there defense just isn’t there.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
8-1 = San Diego SUPER Chargers – This past season these Chargers definitely did not look Super as they look to change their franchise’s Super Bowl drought. Can the Charger’s finally make the Super Bowl? With a horrific defense, a horrible coach, and no team chemistry, there is only one thing you can count on from the Chargers, another first round exit.
10-1 = th in the league and I believe a significant drop will occur next year. In addition, the Patriots amazing air attack takes a beating with Wes Welker possibly missing some of the season (we know how he is after coming back from an injury, 2009) but also, we don’t know how Tom Brady will hold up in his second year after ACL surgery. I just don’t see the Patriots being a threat this season.
10-1 = New Orleans Saints – Brees and the offense will keep the Saints in most games and the playoffs. I believe they go far, but it is too hard to repeat and they just don’t have the ability to make this miracle run again.
10-1 = Pittsburgh Steelers – The Steelers will look good this year after their playoff hiatus. However, after this season, is was shown that Big Ben can’t carry this team on his own as the offence goes up and down on the Steelers roller coaster while the defense stops making big plays just because Polamalu is out. The Steelers will look for revenge, but with their constant injuries and not enough star talent, I don’t see them being a Super Bowl contender.
12-1 = Green Bay Packers – The Green Bay Packers are one of my favorite surprise pick for next years Super Bowl. Aaron Rodgers is coming into form and looks like one of the best quarterbacks in the league. Their defense looked shaky at times, especially against the Cardinals, but I believe with a good off season and a good sip of the “Nobody believes in us” juice and they’ll be ready to take on the best of the NFL. Look out for the Packers in 2010-2011.
12-1 = Dallas “Choker” Cowboys – Now, how can a team that just won their first playoff game in 14 years be called a choker. Well, until they prove to me otherwise by winning a Super Bowl, Tony Romo’s team keeps the title. Every year the Cowboys look extremely good until for some reason they dongames. I believe that this season, they may get far in the playoffs and look good, but they won’t win the Super Bowl.
12-1 = Brett Favre. Favre brought chemistry to the locker room, and with all the super star talent around him, there’s no way they don’t make another super bowl run. There are rumors that Brett Favre might retire, but no one believes that. If you try to think yourself outta that one, just remember what happened the last 5 times.
15-1 = New York Jets – These odds are the most interesting of the whole of Las Vegas for me. The Jets had the number one running game, defense, and I believe offensive line. Also, if you noticed, their coach ain’t that bad either. With all the talent surrounding him if Mark Sanchez can rise to the occasion, (or if not just get another quarterback) then I really see the Jets making the Super Bowl next year.
Overall, I really like the Jets, Vikings, and Packers as huge contenders for next years Super Bowl. Tune in next week as I make my choice of the three and I break down all three teams and whcich of these teams actually could win the big game.
