Where Will Lebron Land?

Gregory MacMillanFeb 15, 2010

LeBron James is one of the best players I have seen in the NBA in a while. He is a 6-9 Small Forward but can play just about any position besides center. He just turned 25 years old and is going to be offered a lot of money this off season. What are the chances that LeBron James stays in Cleveland after this season? That is the question that everybody wants to know the answer to.

We all know that LeBron James likes the bright lights but where will he end up? The assumption is that he wants to end up playing in New York City. Is that going to be the best choice for the King? I mean the Knicks have not done much of anything ever since the 1999 NBA final embarrassment vs the Spurs. The Knicks traded all of their draft picks to the Bulls and paid players more money than they deserved. The New Jersey Nets have a record of 4-48 and are almost assured a top three draft pick in the upcoming NBA draft. They have also had talks about possibly moving the team to Brooklyn. That could be a selling point into landing Mr. James. The Knicks are going nowhere fast and LeBron James would not mesh that well with that team. If he goes to the New Jersey Nets he has a chance to officially build a new team. He has a good supporting cast there with Devin Harris and Brook Lopez to start. If they can get one more solid player there like maybe Mr. Amare Stoudemire or someone in the draft, then the Nets have a chance at becoming a true success story.

What if Lebron does not stay in Cleveland or go to the NJ Nets? What is next? Well the Trail Blazers owner Paul Allen is the wealthiest NBA owner and has stated that he would be willing to pay LeBron James the money he is wanting. The Trail Blazers have Brandon Roy, Greg Oden, LeMarcus Aldridge and Martell Webster already. Having LeBron James added to that roster would make it unfair, but I just do not see LeBron James becoming a Blazer. Could LeBron and Wade team up together and play somewhere and just dominate the league? Will Carmelo Anthony Amare Stoudemire and Chris Bosh think about going somewhere else as well? These are all critical questions that need to be answered this off season.
