Mike MitchellFeb 14, 2010

For many of us, the game of Golf is the sacred cow of sport. Whether we partake or watch on TV, we are always looking to improve our game. Letโ€™s look at hoe you can improve your game of Golf and achieve the highest standards possible.

Selecting the right golf club:

The stable datum is ; your only as good as your tools and in the case of the golfer, this means clubs, balls, irons and to a degree the clothes you choose to wear when playing the game.

There are literally hundreds of golf clubs to choose from, however no matter how good the review, its you who has to be comfortable using it. So the first primary point before purchasing any Golf club or iron is research, this could involve reading reviews on websites to actually going to your local Golf club and trying a shot or two with the club of interest to ensure you feel comfortable using it. If you find the golf club of interest is not so good, then just rinse and repeat this first step

Clothing:

So itโ€™s fine to arrive on the green in standard issue clothing you wear every day, however time and money spent on the right clothing will undoubtedly produce a lower par. Clothing is important, from the right shoes to the right trousers or shorts allowing you freedom of expression and movement.

Golf Balls:

There are many types of golf balls on the market, some good, some bad and some made in a Chinese sweat shop. The key to choosing the right set of balls is to research on the Internet and read reviews, getting other players feedback on what worked for them. As golf balls are cheap, you could purchase three different brands to find the right set for your game and swing.

Fitness:

This cant be overstated, if you work out once a week then thatโ€™s a great start if you donโ€™t exercise then it may well be a struggle. Being overweight has a bearing on your swing for sure and a definite impact on the round you play.

A tip here would be to minimally take a walk each a brisk one and this you will find not only loosens the muscles, but also makes you feel better and off course is healthy.

Train on a regular basis:

This step speaks for itself, practicing your game on a regular basis will certainly improve your game and improve your confidence. A round of gold each day or every couple of days will see your game improve no end.
