Wrestlemania 26: What WWE Can Do To Make It One of the Best in Years

Iam D Real Deal yoFeb 14, 2010

Hey guys I’m back. Wrestlemania is just seven weeks away and WWE should really try to make the most of it. Now many articles have already been written about the predicted Wrestlemania card and about fantasy Wrestlemania.

So I don’t want to revisit what's already been said. But I have formulated a list of things which, if done, could really help WWE in a big way, and have also highlighted the advantages or reasons for doing those things:

Don’t have HBK vs. Undertaker II

WRESTLING: OCT 02 AEW Dynamite/Rampage Pittsburgh
Monday Night RAW

Now many debates have taken place on this topic and I would certainly like to say that they should not do it.

The reason is that both these guys are a year older and so won’t be able to recreate the magic they had last year and destroy the sort of legacy created by the match last year.

The potential advantage is that it will provide for the HBK vs. HHH match, which surely will spell big money and insanely boosted ratings for Mania, which WWE needs at the moment.

Don’t have CM Punk wrestle in the MITB match

WWE should not have Punk wrestle in the MITB match because he has already won it two years in a row and it will further spoil the main event status which he has achieved.

Ever since he lost the title to Taker, he has not wrestled in a major feud with any of the other top guys on the SD brand.

The advantage is that it gives WWE a chance to involve a good performer like him in a singles match so that we can have a good undercard match.

Have John Morrison win the MITB

There have been rumors that Morrison is going to win at EC but that won’t be a good idea because it might prevent the Edge-Jericho match from happening.

That is one match which WWE is looking for at the moment, and they will not want to ruin the chance of achieving huge ratings as this match is going to be big money.

Have a Match for the Unified Tag Team Title

Ever since Jericho and Edge won the unified tag team titles, the title has been provided a lot of impetus and become like the most important secondary title. Having an undercard match for this title will surely help because of the hype surrounding it.

They should probably have 4-5 tag teams compete and make it like a tables match wherein one team gets eliminated only after both of its members are put through a table.

It will have many advantages; first of all, it will allow guys to at least compete at Mania and secondly lend a sense of extremity to the match which the crowd loves.

One of the finest examples is in how much the crowd loved ECW when all the matches they had were extreme matches. This will further help WWE in providing impetus to the secondary titles.

Have at least one heel walk out as champion

WWE should ensure that after the night is over, at least one of the champions is a heel. Because when the heel wins, the fans are caught by surprise; they expected a good guy to win at such an event.

So they become curious to know what is going to happen next. This, without a doubt, boosts ratings and adds a lot of extra hype to the show, thus making things more interesting for the long term benefit of the company.

Don’t have Sheamus fight for or defend the WWE title

Sheamus is a talent, but what he generates is cheap heat; he doesn’t even generate actual heat which guys like Miz or Punk do.

So by having him in one of the main event matches the WWE might just hurt the ratings for the show. Take the case of the Rumble for e.g.; whenever Sheamus was on top in the match, the crowd was very close to silent.

Have a good diva’s match

Last year the diva’s put on an awful match. WWE should have a match between two divas who actually have a huge storyline leading into Mania.

For example, the storyline between Mickie James and McCool should be utilized and accumulate into a title match at Mania.

It is not necessary to involve all the divas in one match. Or they can have a match between the Glamazon and Gail Kim (so what if they are on different brands; they can have a brand supremacy divas match) as both are good performers and can put up a good match from the divas department.

It is necessary to have a good divas match because, of late, matches involving the divas have just become a one minute formality and really brings the show down.

Vince McMahon and Bret Hart should wrestle in a street fight

I know the chances of that happening are minimal, but will surely make one hell of a competition with the amount of history between the two of them.

They should not make it a tag team match by involving Cena and Batista in it, and these two should be separate matches.

In the end Hart would win and obviously help raise the standard of the PPV plus who doesn’t like to see Vince losing and being beaten up. They should try to do what Vince and Hogan did at WM-19.

Have two upcoming main eventers collide

There should be a match between two upcoming wrestlers like Miz/Kofi or Miz/MVP or maybe Punk/Kofi.

Now they may be on different brands, but they can always have two guys from either brand collide and Miz might be unified tag team champ as well; but he can lose it before mania and defend his US title at the event.

The obvious advantage is that it will allow new guys to shine and also provide for interesting story lines.

So if the WWE follows these things then it surely can make this year's Mania one of the best in many years. What do you think; will my ideas help? You are welcome to comment on this article.
