Tony Stewart Wins Daytona Nationwide Series Race
Tony Stewart smoked them again in the February Nascar Nationwide Series race in the Ritz Oreo #4 Chevy for KHI as he took the win at Daytona on Saturday in the Drive4Copd 300 in what was a wild race straight down to the finish. Tony Stewart held off Carl Edwards and Kevin Harvick to win. The race started off with a crash on lap 1 after Paul Menard got together with Chrissy Wallace and she hit the wall. After the restart another crash that seen Mike Bliss get into Trevor Bayne and Brad Teague, Brian Keselowski were also involved. Brad Keselowski seemed to have transmission trouble at the start but it turned out ok and Morgan Shepard has a throttle issue. So after a restart the drivers got some good side by side green flag racing in until a 12 car crash on the tri-oval took out Danica Patrick and a host of others including Ricky Stenhouse Jr, Colin Braun, Jason Leffler and several others. Then to a wild finish as the laps clicked off and they were down to 28 laps to go Carl Edwards and Brad Keselowski got together and turned into Dale Earnhardt Jr and sent Dale Jr sideways into the fence and airborne down the back stretch collecting a host of other drivers including Kyle Busch the defending Nationwide Series Champion, Kevin Harvick , Scott Riggs, Joe Nemechek, Tony Raines, And Brendan Gaughan also were involved in the crash. The race was red flagged and then on the restart Tony Stewart was able to led to the finish and hold off the hard charging pack in a great finish at Daytona the Worlds Center Of Racing for his third spring win in a row and fifth overall.
