Should the Tennessee Titans Reconsider Giving Chris Johnson A New Contract?
The Tennessee Titans ended their 2009-2010 season as one of the hottest teams in the league. After falling to an 0-6 start to begin the season, the Titans won eight out of their last ten, coming up just short of a wild card playoff birth.
A great deal of success must go to Chris Johnson, who capped off an unpredictable season in the NFL, being the first running back to hit the 2000+ rushing yard mark since Jamal Lewis of the Baltimore Ravens.
Johnson put on a great show for Titans fans with his world class speed, being considered in discussions of racing against the best in the world.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
He can do it all. Whether catching a pass out of the backfield, or doing what he does he best, making defenders miss, Johnson looks to have one great future in the NFL.
With that in mind, a few weeks ago Chris Johnson was talking of a possible extension, one that would make him the highest paid running back in the league.
We all know that Johnson was the best running back in the league this season, but is it to early to already give the man a contract with that much money involved?
Head coach Jeff Fisher believes this motive, saying as of now an extension is not in the talks, and is not a plan for this offseason.
I don’t think the situation will boil down at any point where Johnson will want out of Tennessee, but I do believe Johnson and the front office need to at least have some discussions on an extension within the next year.
Chris Johnson is a rare type back where his athleticism will make it a difficult experience for the opposing defenses to game plan against him.
It is unlikely that the 2000 yard season was a fluke, but my guess is the Titans want to see another season of Johnson putting up top five numbers once again.
However, the Titans should keep in mind a possible extension for Johnson, who looks to have a bright future in this league. Confidence was found in quarterback Vince Young, who turned his career around.
Locking up Chris Johnson ensures the fans that the main focus of the franchise will be here for awhile, which in the long run should lead to great things for this Titans franchise.
