North Carolina Basketball: Roy Williams Sticks His Foot in His Mouth
Roy, seriously?
As if your season needed another derailment or distraction.
After a conversation with a massage therapist, the topic of the recent earthquakes and devastation in Haiti surfaced. The therapist told the coach that his season long slump is nothing compared to what the people in Haiti are going through.

Roy, clearly not realizing the magnitude of the weight his remarks carry, commented, "It really depends on what chair you're sitting in."
Really, Roy?
Let's see, college basketball vs. death and destruction, rotting corpses in the street, and widespread homelessness and starvation.
Yeah, that's right up there with the Heels going through a rough spot.
I'm sure that Colts fans immediately started comparing their dismal fate with that of the Holocaust victims, huh?
Or perhaps the Nets fans can draw comparisons with the soldiers in Iraq?
Another example of someone who should know better.
While I don't think Roy Williams is a bad dude, he is guilty of one thing.
Bad judgement!
This kind of media scrutiny comes with the territory and Roy needs to think a little more before he opens up his mouth next time.
Williams issued an apology and the story basically dies there.
I'm not saying everything we do needs to be politically correct, in fact, I despise the PC landscape where every word is measured. But, in this day and age, where those in high payoff positions should know what to say or how to respond, it's difficult to defend.
Tip for Roy: When I get a massage, I usually don't even talk. Just relax Roy!
