Mohamed Eldin MasriFeb 12, 2010

Cesc Fabregas has finally responded to the statements made by the press.

The press declared that Fabregas has signed a five year deal with Barcelona and will join them in the summer.

However, Fabregas has finally released a short statement regarding the subject.

Fabregas stated; "They have denied it and I have denied it. I just want to focus on Arsenal, I think Arsenal Football Club is above all else—every single player in its history, the fans, the club, and myself. I think we deserve a little more respect."

Even though Fabregas has not killed the rumors about a Barca move, and with the elections coming up in the summer, Barcelona surely won't stop their attempt to sign the Gunners' captain, hence showing a lack of the "respect" that Fabregas asked for.

Xavi himself stated that Fabregas has the Barcelona DNA in him.

Well, the Atletico Madrid DNA didn't stop Raul from becoming Real Madrid's captain and all-time leading goal scorer, that's for sure.

Should Barcelona themselves stop the rumors, it is guaranteed that their players or the Spanish press will keep stating it for them.

Ever since he left Barcelona for Arsenal in 2003, Fabregas has become an essential part of the current Arsenal squad, eventually becoming the Gunners' captain and the heartbeat of the club.

Fabregas is also the leading goalscorer and assist leader for the club in the current season.
