Jason White Fastest In Final Truck Practice
Jason White was fastest in the Thursday morning final practice for the Nascar Camping World Truck Series season opening race Friday night the NextEra Energy Resources 250 at Daytona International Speedway. The morning practice was the last before qualifying tonight. Ron Hornaday did get involved with Johnny Benson and Dennis Setzer off turn 2 Hornaday's truck looks ok but some repairs will have to be done to Benson and Setzer before they get back on track tonight. Most of the drivers took it easy during this final practice just getting the trucks dialed in for qualifying. Nelson Piquet and Justin Lofton will be in the running for rookie of the year and they came from two very differe'nt backgrounds one from F1 and the other from ARCA. Landon Cassill is looking for a full time ride he will try to get into the race for friday. Timothy Peters is back in the 17 truck he had a big win last fall at Martinsville. JJ Yeley is behind the wheel of the 01 truck with Carlos Contreras in the 00. The former truck Champion Johnny Benson is teamed up with Gill Racing and Dennis Setzer is in a second truck. Elliott Sadler will be driving some races in the KHI number 4 truck and Billy Ballew has Aric Almirola and Ted Musgrave behind the wheel of his trucks this could be one of the best season ever for the truck series. Many changes took place for the trucks, there will be double file restarts, the top 25 in points locked in the traditional pit stops are back and no need for a catch can man this year on pit road and the spec engine rule is in effect for 1.25 mile tracks. So can Todd Bodine win 3 in a row at Daytona or what about Ron Hornaday going for five championships? Which teams and drivers or rookies will surprise us in 2010 its gonna be great to watch and find out and dont forget the addition of Pocono and Darlington back on the schedule i would'nt mind seeing a road course added in the future but 2010 will be a great year for some of nascar's best racing all around.
