Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera Deserve To Be Resigned by Yankees

Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera are two names that do not need any clarification.

Both players are living legends, the cream of Yankees' pinstripes, the definition of a franchise and the game of baseball in its entirety.

The Yankees have one goal each season: to win the world series. 

And now, as reining champs, they must defend their title.

Repeating as champions in any sport is a huge challenge.  Therefore, they must avoid potential distractions when they arise.

This is not Kansas City. this is New York, where the Yankees play.

Therefore, the Yankees must resign both their "Captain" Jeter, and Rivera, the greatest closer in baseball history.  They must resign each of these great player as soon as possible.  

Bottom line: The Yankees cannot afford to lose either player.

Going over Jeter and "Mo"’s accomplishments and statistics is unnecessary because everyone already knows the importance of theses two greats.

They are true role models who play the game right and lose with dignity.

Winning comes far inferior in comparison to obedience and respect. There is no letter ‘i’ in team, and no team without leaders.

This is our "Captain" and our closer.  They are both the pride of the Yankee fans, and it is our honor and ego that is at stake here, too.

Neither of them would ever take more than they could give to the Yankees and it is a trust well-earned.

Only because "it's the Yankees," is exactly the motivation to do it.

The fans want this resigning them to be a top priority now.

The Minnesota Twins' Joe Mauer is also loved by his teammates and his fans.

Twins ownership has made it known they will do whatever it takes to resign him.

It is time for the Yankees to do the same, as even the Yankees have exceptions.

The Yankees must take care of their leaders, Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera.
