Fantasy Baseball: Beat the Streak, July 2
A player on MLB.com Beat the Streak currently has a 46-game hitting streak. That means he's just 11 days away from winning $1 million. My current hitting streak is at two. Maybe he should be the one giving me advice on Bleacher Report.
Nevertheless, I went 2-2 last night. It's good to see the league's leading hitter back in action and legging out a double.
Yesterday’s Picks
Chipper Jones, Atlanta Braves – 1-3
Dmitri Young, Washington Nationals – 1-4
Picks for Wednesday, July 2—Picks lock at 12:05 Eastern
Brian Roberts, Baltimore Orioles
It must be tough to gain respect when you’re in a division with Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, Manny Ramirez, and the upstart Rays. But Brian Roberts deserves more attention given his talent. He’s an excellent defender and a very good hitter. He’s hitting .295 on the season, and he’s hitting .394 against Royals’ starter Gil Meche.
Chipper Jones, Atlanta Braves
Chipper is back on the field after avoiding a stint on the disabled list. He has another good matchup tonight against the Phillies. Adam Eaton’s opponent’s batting average is .288, and Jones has four hits in seven at-bats against him.
