Dallas Mavericks' Fan Diary: Feb. 9

Dear Diary,
The Mavericks won 127-117!  We beat the Warriors last night!

Somehow it doesn't erase this empty feeling gnawing inside of me.
For three and a half quarters the Mavs played just as expected, like they had for the past six weeks: playing from behind.  We didn't get our first lead till six minutes remaining in the game.
Dirk got in foul trouble early in first and second quarter, that limited his usefulness for the first half.  The second half Dirk was able to contribute to the cause of winning the game.
So we had to rely on streaky Jason "Jet" Terry to lead the offensive charge (scary thought).  Luckily for us Terry was smoking hot and it was contagious.  Josh Howard and Drew Gooden seemed to feed off Terry's energy by posting 25 and 24 points respectively, from the bench.
Just got a text from my Mav buddy saying owner Mark Cuban has named Roddy B. as untouchable for trades.  Obviously, Cuban has learned his lesson of trading away the team's future.
My buddy also says Carmelo Anthony and J R Smith will play for the Nuggets tonight...we're playing the Nuggets in Denver tonight.  Now you know why I don't feel confident in the Mavs win last night.
We need this win tonight!
It's the last game played before the All-Star break, and winning would be an up-note.   I just hope the Mavericks don't collectively decide to go to the season break early tonight.
