2010? One and Done? Are The Saints Good Enough?

  That’s certainly the question. Can the Saints repeat? Now to answer that, you have to look at it two ways. How good is the NFC? And One and done mind set?

SO how good is the NFC? The NFC next year will be an interesting one. Can the Vikings do it w/o Favre if he decides to leave (again)? Can the Cowboys continue with this year success. The Eagles, well the Eagles are the most unpredictable team. They look good one week the next they look like an 8-8 team. I think the Eagles will be a contender with McNabb, so if they let him go watch them to be a non factor.

So now how bout the rest of the NFC. Can the Falcons comeback to form and challenge the Saints in the NFC south. To be honest the Panthers and Bucs, won’t do or be much next year. Can the Giants comeback to superbowl form. That’s going to real tough; they need to solidify their secondary to have any shot at the NFC East. The Packers could be contenders if they don't get complacent. Aaron Rodgers is a very good Qb and with that young defense that team should challenge the Saints for the next 2-3 years.

As you can tell I left off the NFC West. I don't think the Cards will be an elite team anymore with the lost off Warner. The 49ers need a QB desperately; the Rams and Seahawks have shot.

So the Saints really need to worry about the packers and Cowboys next year in my books and maybe the Eagles.

Now the second part is their mindset. This is a fairly young Saints team. So I expect for a few of them to have this "Oh I have my ring so I can take an off year". That’s the danger this team needs to avoid. If they can watch out you might be looking at a 15-1 team next year.  If they can get some more solid young players in the draft and get some linebackers this team as to be the favorite to repeat if not the NFC.

SO at the end of the day if the Saints can avoid the relax mindset, and with the little comp from the NFC this team will be in Big D next year looking to repeat.
