HBK : Onward Downward?

I'm no huge fan of HBK. I respect the guy and will admit without hesitation that he is a true legend who can NEVER be replaced.

That aside, despite not being generally drawn to the guy, I have to admit, his recent downward spiral is brutally crushing. What started as a simple rematch request to Taker, has ended up with DX splitting, and HBK looking to be completely out of the rematch league let alone a title hunt. Anyone with a heart can certainly feel it for the guy. However,  in the midst of his relentless losing streak, I was able to spot something quite odd.

Is it just me, or is WWE trying to turn HHH heel, instead of HBK??? And why is WWE putting down Shawn yet again?

Hear me out okay. HBK showed his true intentions at RR when he Super kicked his DX cohort out of the ring - thus eliminating The Game. I for one thought, well HBK was going to heel ville after that. But then, Batista eliminates HBK. Okay then. Where did that leave this potential DX spilt????

Raw came on, and HHH qualified for EC. HBK did not. Instead of feeling any sense of betrayal towards HBK after he eliminated his friend at RR, I found myself hating HHH (as a heel persona) and sympathizing with HBK. Now I'm sure everyone else felt that way, but it was surprising to see the guy I had thought was going heel, suddenly shine in the limelight of  baby face.

This past Raw has put a stop to HBK's losing streak. After losing those tag belts to what's his face and his tag partner, DX crumbled to mere rubble. HHH is STILL in the title hunt, while HBK - as usual - is left on the sidelines to be called upon whenever Vince needs a five star match. This bugs me alot, but I'm hoping that IF HHH walks out of EC as WWE Champion, we may end up seeing a main event match between HBK and HHH at WM26. That I wouldn't mind.

Hell I wouldn't mind if HBK threw out Kofi the same way Edge did last year, and put himself into the EC match. Then the whole thing would be - as JR would say - academic.
