If I Were The Lions GM I Would Trade Down and Trade Ernie Sims

With the recent success of first round quarterbacks, I believe the Rams will select Jimmy Clausen first overall. Several teams are still in need of a franchise qb at the top of the draft. I predict one of those teams to trade up and select Sam Bradford to eliminate the possibility of losing him. So I have Seattle trading both of their 1st round selections to the Lions in order to get Bradford before anyone else does. Here's my mock draft and free agent signing according to this scenario. I also have us trading Ernie Sims to the Buc's for a second round pick, the 44th overall selection.

round 1 pick 6 -   Gerald McCoy slips to us with the first two picks of the draft being qb's

round 1 pick 14 -  CJ Spiller is the best running back in this draft, a great weapon for the Lions rebuilding offense

Round 2 pick 34 -  Mike Iupati, he will make the entire offensive line better

round 2 pick 44 - Patrick Robinson, Lions are in desperate need of a shut down cb. Robinson has first round potential but slips to the second

round 3 pick 66 -  Jordan Shipley, this sure handed reciever might develope into a solid #2 reciever, but for now a great option in the slot.

round 4 pick 98 -  Dexter McCluster, Lions get a utility player who can help on special teams, the running game and in the pass game

round 5 pick 130 -  Alex Carrington A big DE who will compete for a starting spot or at least add depth to the d line

round 5 pick 155 -  Brandon Carter, insurance at guard if Peterman dont come back full strength. He's a beast!

round 6 pick 162 -  AJ Edds a solid olb out of Iowa with good size 6-4 245

round 7 pick 194 -  Myron Rolle, forgotten he slips to the end of the draft and almost doesnt get drafted. But the Lions get a starter at SS to pair with Delmas.
