Dream Match: JBL Vs. "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase
This is a match I know will never happen mostly because JBL has endured alot of back problems that he no longer can wrestle good and both of the competitors are retired. But this rivalry would be all about ego and the thing this two has in common, they both are storyline rich.
The Superstars: Ted DiBiase is a charismatic figure in the WWE. The man is a successful tag team competitor and singles competitor as well even creating a championship belt called the Million Dollar championship. Plus behind all those money, Ted Dibiase is a great mat technician during his day.
Then you have JBL. Without a doubt, the man can brawl and during his time in the ring, he is a successful tag team competitor and was once the longest champion in Smackdown. And he can run his mouth, good thing the man is no longer a commentator, but the man is cunning and smart. A definite advantage for being a successful wrestler.
The Storyline: I am actually dreaming of this rivalry so my imagination can be pretty wild. JBL enters the ring and speaks of how he is not champion. He demands a title opportunity and demands to sue if he does not get it soon. Then the million dollar man cuts his promo and ask that he gives the younger superstars a shot specially his son, Tede DiBiase. JBL would have none of it and runs his mouth. The million dollar would pull his check book out of his money and ask how much will it cost for him to shut up? JBL is irate and slaps The million dollar man in the face and goes on about how he is rich and he does not need his money and before leaving the ring, he says that he would prove he is better than his son. Ted Jr. and JBL would have a match but would be ended prematurely when JBL gets ganged up by Ted and Cody, Legacy. They handcuff JBL to the ring post and The million dollar appears and kicks JBL in the groin and he does his signature laugh. Legacy and The million dollar man would raise their hands in victory.
On Smackdown JBl would appear on the teleprompter and goes on about how no man would even dare touch him and Ted Sr. would have the arrogance to kick him in the groin and promises that on Raw, Ted Sr. would have what is coming to him.
Then on Raw, Ted Sr. along with Legacy would cut their promo and goes on how JBL is not in Ted Sr.'s league and he may as well quit while he is ahead. But just to be sure, the three would call out 10 men in black to protect them during the night. The lights would go out and Legacy would be knocked out courtesy of the hired men. JBL would come out and has a grin on his face. He tells Ted Sr. that he has already hired the men for himself. The men would hold The million dollar man down and JBL would deliver a clothlines from hell. And raise his hands in victory. Then Raw's GM would make it official, at Bragging Rights it would be JBL vs. The million dollar man. JBL smiles and kicks Ted Sr. in the groin.
At Bragging Rights, JBL would be ready, but when The million dollar man's music hits, he goes on and tells JBL that he will not wrestle, instead he has hired someone to do it for him. And Ron Simmon's music hits. JBL would be suprised but would wrestle either way. JBL would lose the match when The million dollar man would kick JBL in the groin while the referee is not looking.
The next night on Raw, The million dollar man and JBL would have another match. JBL would wait in the ring and after awhile no one is coming down. He looks puzzled but then Tony Chimel ( the ring announcer) would hit JBL with the ring bell knocking him out and then The million dollar man's music hits. He runs down the ring and pins JBL. Legacy would then go down the ring and beat JBL some more. The million dollar man would stand on top of the fallen JBL and says " Everybody has a price!".
The following week on Raw JBL comes down the ring and applauds The million dollar man's tactics saying that he can do better. Legacy would come down the ring and mocks JBL. A brawl breaks out and Ron Simmon would later come down the ring and helps JBL. The two would celebrate in the ring but when JBL's back is turned, Ron delivered a dominator and beats JBL down. Legacy and Ron would then leave the ring but before they can, JBL would grab a mic and says " not so fast, even iafter I received alot of bulls%^t from all of you. You must be forgetting, I have my own stable!" and Orlando Jordan and The Basham Brothers would appear from the crowd and beat Legacy and Ron. JBL and his cabinet would celebrate.
Then on the next Raw, The million dollar man finally accepts JBL's challenge in a traditional 4 on 4 survivor series match on the next pay per view. JBL would come down the ring and agrees. He then cuts his own promo and tells The million dollar man that he is cunning and decieving but would spat his own achievements. The would have a stand off.
At Survivor Series JBL's team would have only 2 participants when The Bashams are nowhere to be seen. During the match, Orlando would start and lays flat in the center of the ring and lets Cody pin him. JBL would continue the match and successfully eliminate Legacy but would be eliminated by Ron Simmons later on.
The next night JBL admits defeat and JBL would go on to say that "Every body, even JBL, has a price." And leaves the ring. Later on Raw, Legacy would have a tag team match but would be interrupted by not JBL, but by Bradshaw. He clothes line from hell all the people in the ring even the referee and the ring announcer. He would be the only one in the ring and says "JBL gave up, but no way in hell would Bradshaw admit defeat!" And over the next month JBL would wrestle Legacy and Ron Simmons winning all of them. Then on the Raw before Royal Rumble, The million dollar man would appear and cuts a promo and says that JBL has a chance winning against him but not a Texas brawler. And to prove it The million dollar man issued a match against Bradshaw. A gauntlet match at The Royal Rumble. Bradshaw would win it easy. But all three gauntlets would jump Bradshaw and when Bradshaw is beaten down, The million dollar man would appear slowly walking down the ramp but running behind him would be Virgil, The million dollar man's former confidant, beating The million dollar man. Following Virgil would be IRS and the two would help Bradshaw out. Bradshaw would get a mic and says "look Ted, I got a few of your buddies and you can't buy them out cause both of them hates your guts!"
Then the next night Bradshaw and his new allies would have a six man tag match against Legacy and Ron Simmons. The million dollar man would interfere in the match but would receive a cloth lines from hell instead. Then Bradshaw would lay a challenge out. He challenges The million dollar man in a match, but it would be match without interferences, a match with no suprises and a match with no way for The million dollar man to buy his way out of. A steel cage match at Wrestlemania.
The Match: Well I'll put it to your imagination but it would be 18 minutes of pure technical wrestling with both men bleeding and a brawl outside the cage.
For me JBL would win and Ron Simmon would hold his hand high but who knows.
And that is my dream match this week. Thank you.
