The Ideal Season for a Fan in the State of Alabama: It Could Happen!

Gene Chizik is giving Nick Saban the competition he needs to stay on edge. I have been impressed with Mr. Chizik in his first full year on the Plains as Head Coach of the Auburn Tigers. He is respectful, hard working, and very likable.

Chizik has every intention to win and is willing to do what it takes, within bounds, to get it done.

"Iron sharpens iron."

The competition is good and it will be fun to watch Alabama and Auburn excel together in the national spotlight.

Saban has once again proven he has the skill as a head coach to win the national title, not just finish second, not just back into the championship game with two losses, but win it outright with a team that goes undefeated in the regular season and finishes with two convincing wins on the national stage.

Personally, I long for a return to the day when both teams enter the Iron Bowl and fight it out for a championship. Not just the state championship, not just the West Division title.

Wouldn't it be nice to have an Iron Bowl victory, win the SEC title, and then watch the foe of the Iron Bowl get one more shot for the title by taking on the SEC victor for the national title.

It could happen if Alabama plays Auburn when both are undefeated, ranked No. 1 and No. 2. and other conferences finish their seasons with no other BCS teams undefeated. The victor of the Iron Bowl wins by a narrow margin and then goes on to win the SEC Title.

In the meantime, the Iron Bowl loser drops only to No. 3 with the loss, then back to No. 2 after the SEC title game.

Alabama and Auburn meet again for the national title.

It happened once in the state of Florida with Spurrier and Bowden at the helm of the respective schools.

The state of Alabama Football, and I mean the State of Alabama, not just the Crimson Tide, is nearing that kind of greatness.

All the fans in the state should unite and consider dreaming for this fate and then help their respective institution get it done. And let's get it done the right way.

Stay away from cheating, or setting up another team's players by gifting them when they don't know your school ties and true loyalties, then turning them in and calling the player a cheater.

If you are out there and see a violation about to happen, step in and take action before it happens.

Don't watch on the sideline and then point fingers later. Do your part to keep it clean so when they hit the field, it's just about the game.

Greatness for both schools should be the goal for every fan in this great state.

The SEC is the best conference!

If that is the case, lets make Alabama the best state in the conference and claim another legitimate National Title with both teams on the national stage at the same time.

Alabama fans are behind their coach and staff like no other time in recent history. Auburn fans are just as committed right here, right now.

Let's get it done.
