America Has Found a New Team To Rally Around

This being my first article and attempt at public writing I will try to keep it short and sweet. In the NFL we have all always been brought up to believe that Dallas Cowboys are in fact "America's Team". To quote my own grandmother "They may be Americas Team but I never got to vote." For the past year or more our country has been in a constant state of suffering from economic hardship where men are losing their jobs and families are struggling to survive and it has been this hardship that has given us all a team we can look up to and admire, the New Orleans Saints.

The recently crowned Super Bowl Champions have become our nations team. A team that comes from a city that has been ripped apart by disaster is now the center of our attention and a model of hope that can capture the imagination of every American. A team that was once one of the worst in the league has risen from the ashes and now stands atop the sporting world. Lead by a quarterback in Drew Brees who had virtually been given up on by the San Diego Chargers this team represents everything we need now.

Uniting under one goal they accomplished everything they set out to do. Even though they posted the leagues best offense and one of the most underrated defenses in the league they still were a 6 point underdog heading into the Super Bowl. Every critic that the Saints have once had has now been silenced, a city that was once destroyed emotionally and physically now sits on a high that no one can take away from them. 

The truth is they are a model of America. Our country like the Saints is emerging from a time of hardship and working harder than every to achieve success. Every person can look at the Saints and see their own struggles and the possibility for they themselves to reach that point of unmatched success. No matter how much the deck has been stacked against you there is always reason to believe greatness is within your grasp.

The Saints have helped reaffirm everything that makes this country great through one season. That hard work, unity, and an unmatched determination to succeed can pay off and will pay off. America is no longer in need of glitz and glamour it is in need of unity. New Orleans, in a single season, has shown everyone what man is capable of one when everyone unites around a common goal. New Orleans has become America's team.
