Reggie Bush: His Explosive Play Brings Excitement to Super Bowl XLIV

Daniel WolfFeb 7, 2010

Super Bowl XLIV brings a dangerous and exciting player onto the field against the Indianapolis Colts in New Orleans Saints' running back/returner Reggie Bush.

The last time the Colts were in the Super Bowl in 2007, they had to face another dangerous and exciting player in the Chicago Bears' Devin Hester, who returning the opening kick off to Super Bowl XLI to the house for a 92 yard touchdown return.

Bush poses a similar problem to the Colts in the punt return game and running and catching the ball.

Against the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs, Bush added a new dimension to his game and ran the ball with more power than most football fans have ever seen from him before.

Known for his fast, flashy and elusive moves in the open field Bush ran hard in between the tackles and threw the Cardinals' defense off to the point where he ran the ball only five times for 84 yards including a 46 yard touchdown run that looked like vintage Bush.

The Saints may look to use Bush either on the inside or outside to get by the Colts' very fast defensive lineman, but his fancy moves are what makes for an entertaining football game.

Fans will be looking for Bush to dance his way into the endzone every time the ball is in his hands and he might be able to do it if the fast Colts defense over-pursue him.

If Bush can get into the open field then look for him to possibly take it to the house and if he has continued success with the ball in his hands, then it will be very hard for the Colts defense to stop him in Super Bowl XLIV.

The last time Bush was on a stage this big was back on Jan. 4, 2006 when the No. 1 USC Trojans played against the No. 2 Texas Longhorns in the National Championship Game, when Texas quarterback Vince Young single-handily beat the Trojans 41-38 win the the championship honor.
