Duke Bests BC in Trap Game, Bring on The Heels

The Duke Blue Devils went into Chestnut Hill looking to improve on their road woes.  They have struggled on when playing outside of the comfortable confines of Cameron, and an ACC loss at BC would have made their ACC title run much more difficult.

From the opening tip off it was appereant that the Devils were the better team.  They seemed to swoop up every loose ball at times, however they also showed weakness as well.

Duke is one of the best free throw shooting teams in the country, it is one of the things that propel them to victory night in and night out, but in this game they shot 15-26 from the stripe.  That is still a positive number but they truly struggled at times, missing five in a row at one point and a couple that could have bit them in the last minute.

Fortunately for the Duke faithful, the free throws did fall between then and the final buzzer and they were able to get their19th win of the season.

The two most consistent players on the Duke roster dropped 21 each (Smith and Scheyer), while Singler dropped in 12 (but was merely 4-12 from the field).

The game was ultimately one that could have been called a trap game.  Duke heads down Franklin to the Dean Dome Wednesday night.  In a year where the Heels are down, the Devils must be smelling blood.  When they step into the unfriendly arena at Chapel Hill they will be taking on one of the worst teams that UNC has put together in a very long time! 

This makes it a very scary game!  The rankings, past, records...None of that matters in this rivalry!  A win over BC was a huge step in the right direction, now it is time to prepare for those heels!
