Big Ten: Dementri McCamey Shakes Up The Big Ten Race For The Title

It was a late night in Champagne last night for the ''Mighty" Michigan State team that played without there team general Kalin Lucas.Illinois pulled off a upset behind there own team leader Dementri McCamey....Now with the Michigan state lose it makes a close race even closer for the Big Ten Title. Only 1 and 1/2 games separate 5 teams,Here is a look from 5-1 for who is in the running for the Big Ten title.

5. Ohio State(7-3,17-6)
Just Imagine what if Evan Turner never got injured, they could be even in a better position then they are now....Well here lets take a look, The buckeyes can throw many different guard looks at you with the talent of Turner,Buford,Lighty, and Diebler. Ohio State had a tuff going without there star phenom Evan Turner but they mananged to keep there cool, going 3-3 in the games that he missed. Now the thing that worries me is they dont have enough bench to get them all the way to the top. They have four player who average 30+ minutes per game.......... There remaining is Iowa,@Indiana,@Illinois,Purdue,@Michigan State,@Penn State,Michigan,and to finish the regular season off at home against Illinois at home.

4.Purdue(7-3,19-3)
Here is the most experienced team in the Big Ten this year,they may have disapointed everyone early.But,they are currently on a 5 game win streak. They are lead by arguably the best trio in the Country. Johnson,Hummel, and Moore all average double digit points. Like I said earlier Purdue started off 0-2 in conference play and now are 7-3. They are not a very big team but have a lot of skilled guards just like Ohio State. They returned all the starters from a sweet 16 team from last year, They are very unselfish and they are the definition of a ''team'' There remaining scheldule is @Michigan State,Iowa,@Ohio State,Illinois,@Minnesota,Michigan State,Indiana,@Penn State.

3.Illinois(8-3,16-8)
The Fighting Illini are coming off a huge  needed win over Michigan State.The Illini are lead by Dementri McCamey who had a huge double double against Michigan State. Illinois dosen't have much size but they have tremendous length. Low Post game is lead by Mike Tisdale.They have 4 players who average double digits in McCamey,Tisdale,Richardson,and Davis. Illinois like most Big Ten schools wont amaze you but they will get the job done. There remaining scheldule is @Wisconsin,Ohio State,@Purdue,@Michigan,Minnesota,@Ohio State,Wisconsin.

2.Wisconsin(8-3,18-5)
What is the first thing you think when I say Wisconsin? Well if someone asked me that I would say hard nose Defense. The Badgers are only allowing 56 points per game and they are even undefeated at home this year(13-0). They are lead by Hughes (15.5 PPG) and Jon Leuer (15.4 PPG) They have three games that jump out at me when I look at there scheldule. 1) Lost @ Green Bay 88-84 OT It was a early game so it dosent worry me to much but its hard to imagine a tuff nose Wisconsin team giving up 88 points to a mid major team. 2) Win at home against Purdue 73-66 this was just another game that you watched and just said and this is why Wisconsin is unbeatable at home. 3) Win at home against Michigan State 67-49 not only did they beat them they OWNED them they shut down a fast moving Michigan State team. 1.Michigan State(9-2,19-5)
After jumping out to a 9-0 record in conference play they have droped to games to Wisconsin and Illinois. They played without Kalin Lucas against Illinois so dont get to worried about it. Michigan state is not a big team but they will punch you in the mouth they are a top 10 team in rebounds and they just get the job done.Fan's of the Spartans should be impressed in the way Michigan State played without there general.Michigan State has a lot of depth and its a reason why there always at the top of the BIg ten every year.
