Auburn Recruiting: 2011 Class Starts Quickly
The 2011 Auburn recruiting class has already started to form. Gene Chizik and his staff did not take any breaks. They immediately started working on the 2011 class as soon as they had the 2010 class in the fold.
Spencer Regions, a 6'6 350lbs. offensive lineman from Cullman, AL has changed his commitment from Alabama to Auburn. Auburn will lose several offensive linemen to graduation in 2011 and he should play early and often. He is widely considered to be one of the top prospects in the nation for 2011.
Izauea Lanier, a 6'1 185lbs defensive back was the first 2011 recruiting class member. He was unable to meet all of the administrative requirements to enroll in 2009. He then attended East Mississippi Community College where he had a great season. He plans to red shirt for the 2010 season to have three years of eligibility when he gets to Auburn next December.
This is a great start for coach Gene Chizik and his staff. It is also their first head to head win against cross state rival Alabama for the top spot in state recruiting in 2011. Mr. Regions said he valued the family environment at Auburn.
