Denver Broncos Mock Draft: February
You know what time it is. Time for your favorite NFL team to pick from the best the college ranks has to offer and improve their chances at another Lombardi title! Without further adieu, let's get into the mock draft.
I would like to quickly say that these are my picks and not what I ultimately believe Josh McDaniels will do. I'll write a future article on my "McDaniels Mock."

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
I know he may not last until the 10th pick. But if he does the Broncos have to take a gamble on getting a long term solution at QB here. If Bradford is on the board a few picks higher I'd trade up to get him. We all know that Orton is a stop gap solution. So while Orton is doing what he does best, managing the team for another year, we can have our QB of the future on the bench learning from a good role model and being coached by the QB guru himself. Think of it as a Carson Palmer-Jon Kitna situation.
Round 2 Selection: Mike Tennant C, Boston College
I think that Maurkice Pouncey will sneak into round one. At the end of the day center is our greatest need. You really should not argue this pick, unless it's for another center.
Round 3 Selection: Dexter McCluster WR/RB, Ole Miss
If there is something the Broncos need it is a play maker on offense. McCluster fills many voids on the roster at once. He is a kick returner. He is a scat back to Knowshon's power game, and he can come in at receiver and take the screen pass. The Broncos offense lacks down-field speed badly. McCluster is a guy that can remedy that in a hurry.
Round 4 Selection: Alterraun Verner CB, UCLA
My personal favorite would have been CB Walter Thurmond III but he is coming off a knee injury which is not good for corners. Verner had a decent Senior Bowl week and looked like he could be a solid player down the line. The Broncos' corners are all over 30 except for Alphonso Smith and Tony Carter so developing young players here is a must.
Round 5 Selection: Traded for DE Le'Kevin Smith
Round 6 Selection: Matt Dodge P, East Carolina
Have you seen a Mitch Berger punt?
Round 7 Selection: Rashawn Jackson, FB Virgina
The Broncos have a tough decision to make on FB Peyton Hillis' future with the team. Let's complicate it with another fullback in camp.
As you can see, I truly believe that for the Broncos to compete in the present and the future they need to attempt to upgrade the offense in a major way. Josh McDaniels should look to add play makers wherever they lie and build around a Quarterback who is more talented than the game manager Kyle Orton. A lot of this will also be dependent on what is done in free agency, where I also expect the Broncos to be hustling and bustling to improve their team.
