2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics Betting Odds
The 2010 Winter Olympics betting action is right around the corner! This will be the 21st installment of the tradition that occurs every fourth year, and it will occur in Vancouver, Canada. Coverage of the Games can be viewed on the NBC family of networks and will surely be a worldwide sports betting spectacle.
The Germans captured the top spot in the medal table in the ‘06 Olympics in Italy, earning 11 gold medals, 12 silvers, and six bronzes. The United States finished a close second, just four medals behind Germany. Amongst the Americans that captured gold in Turin were Ted Ligety (Men’s Combined Alpine skiing), Julia Mancuso (Women’s Giant Slalom), Apolo Ohno (Men’s 500 meters short track speed skating), Shaun White (Men’s halfpipe snowboarding), Hannah Teter (Women’s halfpipe snowboarding), Seth Wescott (Men’s snowboard cross), Joey Cheek (Men’s 500 meters speed skating), Shani Davis (Men’s 1000 meters speed skating), and Chad Hedrick (Men’s 5000 meters speed skating). Once again, the American men figure to compete well in the speed skating events in Vancouver.

One of the most prestigious events of the Winter Games is Ice Hockey. On the women’s side, the Americans grabbed the bronze metal. The men didn’t fare nearly as well, as they were knocked out in the quarterfinal stage by Finland 4-3. The dominant side on the men’s draw was Sweden, who posted victories of 7-2 over Kazakhstan, 6-1 over Latvia, 6-2 over Switzerland, and 7-3 over the Czech Republic to advance to the final against the Fins. The Swedes used a Nik Lidstrom goal in the third period to earn a 3-2 ‘W’ in the Gold Medal game. Finland settled for the silver in spite of the fact that they had five of the seven leading point scorers in the tournament.
2006 was a disappointing year for the Americans in the figure skating events. The Russians nearly swept the board, capturing three of the four disciplines. The USA’s Sasha Cohen took home the silver medal in Ladies’ singles action, while fellow Americans Tanith Belbin and Benjamin Agosto also won silver in the Ice Dancing portion of the competition.
No matter whether you prefer placing your 2010 Olympics bets on hockey, skiing, speed skating, or any of the other fantastic events on display, BetUS Sportsbook will have all of your winter olympics odds covered.
