HEAT VS. CAVS PICKTwo of the brightest young stars in the NBA duke it out at “The Q” on Thursday night in a NBA betting battle that cannot be missed! G Dwayne Wade will attempt to lead his Miami Heat (24-25, 24-25 ATS) back to .500 against F LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers (39-11, 26-23-1 ATS). These two teams are heading in opposite directions right now, as the Cavs are riding a nine-game winning streak and have covered five straight NBA wagering lines. Miami has lost three in a row and five out of six, but at least it stuck in front of the 5.5-point spread in last night’s 107-102 loss at Boston Garden.

The Heat would probably be long since out of the playoff picture without “Flash” in the lineup. Wade is averaging 27.0 points and 6.3 assists per game, and at times, he is the only offensive weapon on the court. F Michael Beasley is starting to round into the form that Miami envisioned when they drafted him, but his 15.9 points per game won’t be enough to carry the franchise should Wade leave via free agency in the offseason. Guard play on this team is suspect at best outside of Wade, and the Cavs should be able to exploit that lack of offensive production from the Miami backcourt tonight.

Then there’s The King. LeBron does it all for the Cavaliers night in and night out, and he seemingly never misses a beat. He is averaging 29.3 points, 8.2 assists, and 7.1 rebounds per game for HC Mike Brown, and he’s still doing so without a fantastic supporting cast around him. Even though there aren’t a ton of scorers on this roster, the one thing that it can do is play defense. Teams are only shooting 43.0% from the floor against the Cavs, who are only allowing 93.8 points per game (#2 in the NBA).

When LeBron and Dwayne dueled just a week and a half ago, the two put on quite the spectacle. They each scored 32 points in Cleveland’s slender 92-91 win in South Beach. The Cavs have taken both games this season against Miami and have won and covered four straight. The Heat had covered the previous three games though, and the road team is 6-2 ATS in the L/8 overall meetings.
