National Signing Day 2010: Notes from Rich Rodriguez's Press Conference

• Said staff did an outstanding job at relationships.
• Devin has not been working out due to catching up with academics since he started class late.
• Brought Devin in to compete with the other QBs.
• Jeremy Jackson was brought in because he is a good football player, not just because he is the son of coach Fred Jackson.
• Would have taken another offensive lineman, but very happy with Christian Pace.
• Defense had 25 scholarship players last year. You want to have 38-40. 
• Richard Ash was critical to the defense class. His recruitment was a battle that ended this morning.
• Jibreel Black was one of the top defensive line prospects on Michigan's board.
• Denard Robinson was basically Dorsey's recruiter.
• Carvin Johnson's HS coach gave RR a tip a year ago about Carvin.
• "Trail" Jones will compete at QB first and may be moved to another position.
• Antonio Kinard has some work to do on academics and may end up at a prep school.
• Ricardo recruited strong for this class and is friends with Marvin Robinson.
• Jake Ryan had a great senior year and is one of the best players in Ohio.
• Sold on the Talbott brothers after watching film and coming to camp.
• Ray Vinopal had another great Senior year and fits everything you want in a football player. Ray was under the radar. Don't get hung up on stars; he is one of the most valuable players in the class. 
• D.J. Williamson is one of the fastest players in the class.
• You can never have enough defensive lineman. Also need players that can play in space.
• Interviewed a few coaches at coaches convention and most likely looking to hire a safeties coach. Coach Robinson will coach the linebackers.
• RR tells his staff to not negative recruit.
• RR says he does a lot of research on each prospect and he feels comfortable with every prospect. This was a question regarding Dorsey's background.
• He got a little upset with a number of questions on Dorsey's past arrest when he was 16. He was found not guilty. 
• He continued to get upset and wanting the media to stop being negative. 
• When coaches leave, it changes the relationship with the school.
• They may have a spot for one more but they don't expect to fill it.
