National Signing Day 2010: Oregon Ducks Updates
I will be following the Oregon Ducks signing day. As the letter of intents are sent in, I will update.
So far, California has been stealing some recruits. As expected, athlete Keenan Allen has committed to the Bears. LB Chris McCain followed soon after, and DL Gabe King is expected to sign with the Bears too.
Ath. James Scales has sent in his letter of intent to the Oregon Ducks.
DE Werner picks Florida State over the Oregon Ducks.
The Ducks have a good chance to lure DL Hemuli from Utah, and safety Eric Dargen is likely to sign with the Ducks.
More in a few.
DL Gabe King has Signed With Cal. DL Ricky Heimuli has signed with Oregon. That pickup was huge!
Oregon started slow today, but are looking to rebound.
TE Christian Thomas is expected to pick between Oregon and USC. Thomas would be a huge get. The Ducks could then move ESPN 150 TE recruit Curtis White to DE. The Ducks have lost out on some huge DL recruits. I wouldn ot be surprised if this happened.
ESPN 150 DL recruit Owa Odighizuma will announce at 2:30 ET. Oregon is said to be out of the running for this touted DE, but don't be surprised if a 17 year old kid changes his mind.
I have heard that most of the expected recruits have signed. Nothing is official until Oregon releases all of the letter of intents.
Here is a list of currenrly signed players.
LB Issac Dixon
Ath Curtis White
CB Troy Hill
RB Dontae Williams
C/DE Hroniss Grasu
ATH Eric Dungy
OG Nick Rowland
DE Tony Washington
ATH James Scales
RB Lache Seastrunk
DL Ricky Heimuli
Also it has been rumored that TCU WR Commit Josh Huff has switched his commitment to the Oregon Ducks. If this is true the Ducks have landed a big recruit. Could this be payback for TCU stealing RB Ethan Grant for Oregon?
DL recruit Owa Odighizuma is a UCLA Bruin. Owa picked the Bruins over Oregon State and Nebraska among others.
TE recruit Christian Thomas has picked USC over Oregon. Ducks lose out on a WR also. More on that soon.
The WR mentioned above is Ivan McCartney. He picked West Virginia over the Ducks. It now looks as if Oregon is done. I am waiting for news on Eric Dargan though.
S Anthony Jefferson picks UCLA over Oregon and Arizona. UCLA is really closing strong. The Pac-10 as a whole have really done an amzing job.
Sorry for the delay. It has been a busy day.
We can now add DB Dior Mathis as one of todays recruits to send Oregon a letter of intent.
It appears Oregon is done. I will review and evaluate the class as soon as the dust has settled. As of right now Chip Kelley and his staff seem to have done a great job.
