The Patriots narrowly escaped the Panthers at home last time these two squads got together, now they are looking to keep their winning streak alive on the road and maintain 1st place. Mason got killed on the boards in that game and Georgia State kept Ryan Pearson from being much of an impact. But a lot has changed for the Patriots since that game as they are shooting the ball much better and getting regular scoring efforts from Cam Long after switching to shooting guard. If I am not mistaken that game against Georgia State was when those two guards really started to take over the offense for Mason. Look for the Panthers to try to slow this game down and thwart the Patriots fast paced offense. If Mason doesn't start off shooting well, like when they played JMU at home recently, it could be another close game. This is an important game for the Patriots as they face the CAA's best after this one in a stretch of games that will be a difficult test.
