2. Barcelona- I did not see the Barcelona-Sporting Gijon game but I heard there were some controversial calls. Anyways, a win is a win. Most Barca supporters were expecting the blaugrana to thrash Gijon, but it turned out otherwise, 1-0. Coming up: The blaugrana are no longer in the Copa Del Rey, and their next game is against mid table Getafe.

1. Manchester United - Man U won 3-1 in the carling cup against fierce rivals Man City, and they won in an important game against Arsenal, and with style. A great piece of skill from Nani in the right wing could only be palmed in by Almunia, while an impressive counter was finished off by the trailing Wayne Rooney. The third goal was scored from another counter, this time from a Ji Sung Park one a little past halfway. Arsenal got one back near the end, Vermaalen had a shot deflected in. Coming up: United face basement dwellers Portsmouth on Saturday, and they will keep a keen eye of what happens in the Chelsea-Arsenal game on Sunday.
