Super Bowl XLIV: Peyton Manning, Indianapolis Colts Might Not Know What's Coming

They shouldn't be overlooked.

A team that might have retired two of the NFL's finest quarterbacks aren't being taken seriously.

Peyton Manning might not take them seriously either.

The Saints didn't get a berth in the Super Bowl this year. They took it. They did so by eliminating one of the game's greatest comeback stories in Kurt Warner. They did it when they gave Brett Favre a reason to retire: pain. The Saints are looking for more than just a Super Bowl ring. They're looking to spill Hall-of-Fame blood.

Peyton Manning doesn't get hit. He falls to ensure the defense doesn't gain momentum from big hits. He might not get a chance to do so against New Orleans. The Saints D-line, the linebackers, the defensive backs are all looking to draw first wound.

But Peyton Manning shouldn't worry. Darren Sharper only has nine interceptions this year. And the Saints are just ball-hawks, they only force turnovers on half of their opponents' possessions.

The Saints don't have Darrelle Revis, the reason Reggie Wayne was a non-factor against the Jets. So they shouldn't be feared. The Saints limited two of the best offenses in the NFC, and their in-your-face defense just happened to single-handily retire a quarterback, with a second one about to announce the second retirement.

Peyton Manning shouldn't worry about his Colts' defense either. The Saints only have Drew Brees, Robert Meachem, Marques Colston, a rising Reggie Bush, and Devery Henderson. They only completely torched the Vikings defense, which was only ranked consistently among the best in the league. Dwight Freeney can take care of the Saints' offense on his own.

Peyton Manning doesn't need to worry. He doesn't need to break a sweat come Sunday. The world can celebrate Manning's second ring. The Saints are just sleepers, right?
