Chuck Liddell: Will Matrimony Melt the Iceman?

Dorothy WillisJun 30, 2008

Chuck popped the question to his 'long-time' girlfriend in London where they were present for the UFC 85 event that Chuck had been scheduled to headline with Rashad Evans.

Liddell had to withdraw as the main attraction after pulling his hamstring and developing one of the most discolored and sickening looking upper right thighs that anyone could ever imagine seeing. Yech!  It put rotting meat to shame.

Perhaps having finally proven not to be the invincible UFC icon that he had been considered before losing his championship light-heavyweight belt to Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, Chuck feels there is nothing left for him to fear and marriage is now a possibility.

Actually, although millions of men, both married and single, are agonizing over Chuck's decision leading him to a monogamous relationship, it is not the "Iceman" I am concerned for.

As a 62-year-old grandmother who has been married for over forty years to the same man, I am concerned for the young woman who has agreed to marry him.

What on earth can she be thinking?

Here is a man who is not only an athlete with a tremendous amount of groupies and a history of on the road romances, but a man who in his autobiography bragged about having Dana White enter his room to find six naked girls with him. He even said he was having sex during an interview over the phone!

Can you say "horn dog?"

How disheartening would it be to share a bed with a man with this type of background? And did I mention he has two illegitimate children a year apart in age by two different women he continues to consider his "friends?"

It is like the Titanic just begging to meet a huge mountain of floating ice!

But it is my experience of observing others that women never will learn and persist in believing that 'with them' it will be a different story, and their prospective mate 'can be changed.'

WAKE UP! It is NOT going to happen!

Although I wish this young lady well in her efforts, I doubt that she will successfully melt the heart of the Iceman. He has had it packed in ice for much too long.
