Straight Edge--The Opiate For The Masses

Okay. I can't take it any more with you pod people that complain about the CM Punk as crazy christian angle.

I wasn't even signed up as a writer here, but I can't keep my mouth shut any longer.

First, a few questions:

Are they inserting the concept of Straight Edge to represent Christianity?  Yes.

Does Punk's syntax and demeanor mirror evangelicals?  Yes.

Has Punk grown a beard and shaggy hair in the manner of the stereotypical artistic depiction of Jesus?  Yes.

Are they respecting Christianity?  Of course not.

Are they making fun of people who take Christianity too seriously?  Absolutely.

What?

Oh no!  Making fun of christianity!  CM Punk went too far!  How dare they!

STFU! 

WWE makes fun of everyone!  Woman, Black people, Arabic People, Indian People, Asian People, Latino People, Italian People, British People, Irish People, Jamaican People, The elderly, Little People, Fat People, Poor People, Gay People, Muslims, Elvis, Barbers, Roosters, and on and on! 

They're actually making fun of Straight Edge too, but who's keeping track?

Why should christianity be exempt?  Sure, they can be derogatory to everything under the sun.  But Christianity? How dare they!!!

Seriously.  STFU.

God in any form, is a fallacy.  And organized religion is just a tool to manipulate the masses anyway.  Please.  I've studied this.  Those in power use religion to scare people into behaving.  They promise everlasting happiness if you are good so you won't complain about how unequal the wealth and power are spread.

But, even if religion wasn't BS, this is GD wrestling we're talking about.  You expect political correctness from a company that has bra and panties matches, casts African Americans as street hustlers, has a catch phrase telling people to "suck it," and, on a weekly basis, treats a little person as though he cannot speak and has the mental function of a child with down syndrome?

Really?

You still want to complain about making fun of Christianity?
