Mayweather Is Beating Pacquiao for the Moment
As most of you already know, Floyd Mayweather and Shane Mosley have agreed to fight on May 1 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
I’ll cut straight to the point.
With this fight, Mayweather has outsmarted Manny Pacquiao in many ways, beating him in the process.
Think about it.
Mayweather is taking the higher risk by fighting the crafty veteran Sugar Shane Mosley.
More importantly, Mosley did not hesitate to take the random blood test Pacquiao was reluctant to take.
I am not implying by any means that Pacquiao is taking performance enhancing drugs; it is just that Mosley had no problems so many people will question why Pacquiao didn’t accept like Mosley did.
It will certainly be interesting to see how fight fans (forever) will argue this issue back and forth. Plus, I’m sure the Mayweather’s will make this a huge deal.
Furthermore, Mayweather will silence many critics or haters that have accused him of ducking the most dangerous fighters out there.
Whether you want to argue Mosley is past his prime, won against an overrated Margarito, or simply isn’t on Mayweather’s league is irrelevant.
Mosley is one of the top three welterweights, if not the number one welterweight. So Mayweather is taking a huge gamble in fighting someone like Mosley.
Furthermore, I've noticed the boxing websites around the internet are more excited about Mayweather's fight than Pacquiao's fight.
Now let’s talk about the benjamins, mula, dinero, whatever you like to call it.
Who do you think will win the PPV battle?
Will it be Pacquiao vs. Clottey or Mayweather vs. Mosley?
Pacquiao has the live gate crowd advantage because Cowboy’s Stadium can hold a huge number of fans.
So Pacquiao can argue and boast the huge numbers he is undoubtedly going to draw; myself included.
Nevertheless, I find Mayweather vs. Mosley more intriguing, more exciting, with overall more implications.
I will also predict that it will beat Pacquiao vs. Clottey PPV sales.
Why?
Mayweather and Mosley are both superstars that will draw crowds from both fighters.
Pacquiao on the other hand will draw fans because of his popularity. Can't say the same for Clottey.
Clottey is a well known fighter among hardcore boxing fans, but he doesn't have a huge following and isn't well known outside of hardcore boxing fans.
Like I said before in my previous article (Mayweather vs. Pacquiao has exceeded the hype Part two) there will be many twists and turns as both fights take place.
Now nothing against Clottey or Mosley but if either one manages to upset either Pacquiao or Mayweather well…you know where I am getting to.
