This game should be an offensive showdown!

If you are not dominating your fantasy league, it is pretty obvious…you need to get into the end zone. Fantasyendzone.com Yes we know that the fantasy football seasons is over, but we love just talking football. Here are some interesting things to ponder.

I would say that most people feel like this will be a great offensive Super Bowl. In one corner we have the challenger hailing from Purdue, he has played outstanding football for years now, DREW BREES!!!!!!In the other corner, we have a recent Super Bowl winner, a four time league MVP, hailing from New Orleans, PEYTON MANNING!!!!
We have all heard it said, “Defense wins championships”. We took an in depth look at the team defense on my last blog. Today we will look closer at the team offenses. We will really see if this game should be an offensive showdown, like most are predicting.

First let’s take a closer look at the Saints offense.
• The saints ranked 1st in total team offense, averaging 31.9 points per game.
• The saints ranked 6th in rushing, averaging 4.5 yards per carry, and scored 21 touchdowns on the ground
• The saints O-line ranked 4th.
• The saints ranked 4th in passing offense, averaging 8.3 yards per catch, and catching 34 touchdowns through the air.

Second let’s take a closer look at the Colts offense.
• The colts ranked 9th in total team offense, averaging 26 points per game.
• The colts ranked 32nd in rushing, averaging 3.5 yards per carry, and scored 16 touchdowns on the ground.
• The colts O-line ranked 1st.
• The colts ranked 2nd in passing offense, averaging 7.7 yards per catch, and catching 34 touchdowns through the air.

This one really has all the looks of an offensive showdown. My next few blogs will take a look at how the defenses and offenses have looked in the post season.
