Raptors Report Week 14: Toronto Rolling, Closing in on Boston
Believe it or not, the Raptors are only four-and-a-half games out of taking fourth place away from the Celtics. They have won five games in a row with the strong play of Chris Bosh, Andrea Bargnani, and a spark from Jose Calderon off the bench.
Hedo Turkoglu finally broke out in a Raptors uniform against the Knicks on Friday, scoring 26 points and grabbing 11 rebounds, but within the first two minutes of the game on Sunday evening, Turkoglu took an elbow to the face and did not return. There is no word of the severity of the injury. This hurts, especially for a guy who is trying to get into form.
On another note, the Raptors are playing their best basketball of the season and could very well enter the break on a nine-game winning streak. Their next four opponents are the Pacers, Nets, Kings, and 76ers.
Record
3-0
Performance on a scale of 1-10
Positives
Offense, defense, the Raptors have everything going.
Before their game against Indiana, the Raptors were down by more than 10 points in every game on their four-game winning streak. They showed grit and managed to come back every time.
Amir Johnson has been huge off the bench and Hedo Turkoglu has finally shown some life.
Negatives
The fact that they have been down by more than 10 is not really a good thing. Against the elite teams (despite beating the Lakers), they won't be able to come back from a double-digit deficit every time. Against Indiana, they almost blew a 16 point lead, but managed to grind out a win.
Also, Hedo Turkoglu's injury doesn't look too good.
Overall, when you go 3-0, you know you had a good week. The Raptors play four more times before the All-Star break and hopefully can keep up this level of play.
GO RAPS!
