15 Ways To Improve the Pro Bowl

Ricky WriterJan 29, 2010

I enjoy watching the Pro Bowl as much as the next man. Well the next man that enjoys it of course. But the game that is supposed to entertain the fans is not doing what it was conceived to do. It's actually frustrating them on top of boring them. It's also annoying the players as well, who really don't want to play in the game. So I've come up with 12 ways to improve the Pro Bowl for the fans and the players.

15. We could go back to the old school days of the Super Bowl winning team playing the Senior Bowl participants.

14.  Pay the players more money for playing in the game.

13.  If anyone gets hurt, they will be paid their full salary for the next season, plus a $1 million bonus.

12.  Have a defense/offense swap for a quarter. I'd pay to see Champ Bailey play wide receiver, heck, with the way Adrian Peterson runs, I bet he'd make a great free safety. You know Troy Polamalu can tote the rock, too.

11.  The losing team has to run gasers (wind sprints) in order to keep their participation money.

10.  The losing team is subject to rookie hazing in the middle of the field for all the fans to watch immediately after the game.

9.    Not fully sure how this would work out, but the conference that wins gets an extra home game next season.

8.   The winning team or MVP of the game get to change a rule for the next season.

7.   The MVP of the game gets a large amount of money donated to his favorite charity (tax deductions baby).

6.   Maybe ditch the coaches and let the players coach.

5.   Instead of a boring performer at halftime, turn the halftime show into a mini-skills competition. Imagine Chris Johnson racing Ted Ginn Jr. or DeSean Jackson for all the marbles. Or even a rocket launcher contest between Ben Roethlisberger and JaMarcus Russell.

4.   We could make the game shorter; people are likely to enjoy it more if they know it's not going to last long.

3.   The MVP gets an endorsement deal with a major company for the next season.

2.   Keep the game after the Super Bowl and never move it again!

1.   Keep the game in Hawaii and never move it every again!

That's all I got,
