Plan 9 From Outter Space!

Last year was not a good year and we want to get back to where we were. We have a plan, our plan and I like our plan. I feel very comfortable if we get our guys and I think every year we have gotten the guys we wanted to improve our club. When it's all said and done, come opening day our team will be better than it was last year.

That is close to what Omar said awhile ago.  It is not word for word, but it is pretty close.

Fred Wilpon said that the Mets are dedicated to deliver a championship caliber team next season.

WHERE?!?!?!  Where are all these player we got that are making us a championship team?  Where are all these players in Omar Minaya's plan? The Plan 9 From Outter Space has given us nothing.  And yet the Wilpons want us to spend money at their new stadium?  And yet they have the balls to charge those prices for those tickets?  The mets have the second highest ticket price in the majors.  Where is this money going?  I can tell you it is not going to new players.

There is no one you feel confident in after Santana in that rotation. We have a second baseman who ownership doesn’t want and no one in the mlb apparently wants either. But we have Gary Matthews in Center Field and also an Angel in the outfield.  Angel there is 2 outs, get out of the dugout! No one knows what is up with the first base situation.  Daniel Murphy has a glove for every position on the field.  He doesn't even know what he is doing. 

But we have signed every catcher to back up Omir Santos.  To be honest with you, I like what I saw from Thole.  I would rather have him platoon with Santos.  But the Mets said they are fine with the catching platoon they have now. Theywhy were they going after Molina?  Obviously they are not satisfied with the catching situation.

Where are these 2 pitchers that we are supposed to get?  John Smoltz? The guy is 100 years old, what is he going to do?  Pitch 4 games, then go on the DL, and into the bullpen?  Yeah, great investment.  We watched Pinero, Garland, Sheets, Wolf, Marquis, and basically everyone else who the mets were apparently interested in, go somewhere else.

As of right now, Wang is the best choice.  But Wang is said to be back by early May.  This would make him miss around 6 starts.  The only thing I can see if we get Smoltz, is Smoltz takes Wangs place before he comes back, and then when Wang is back Smoltz goes to the bullpen.  But the way the mets are going, they won't get anyone.

I've been reading that the Mets have no even made an offer to Smoltz yet.  Other teams have, but not the mets.  They have said they are waiting for the price to come down.  COME DOWN FROM WHAT?!?!?!  From 2.5 million to 2 million?!?!  This is rediculous.  The Wilpons and Minaya are treating free agency like it's a garage sale.
