Wladimir “Dr. Steelhammer” Klitschko Will Punish Eddie Chambers
IBF, WBO, IBO and Ring Magazine titlist Wladimir “Dr. Steelhammer” Klitschko will defend his crowns versus Philadelphian Eddie Chambers March 20 at the Esprit Arena in Duesseldorf, Germany.
Klitschko (53-2, 47 KOs), who won a gold medal for Ukraine as a super heavyweight at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, lauded Chambers' (35-1, 18 KOs) abilities in the ring and stated that the 27-year-old is currently the best U.S. heavyweight contender.
“Chambers is not number one in the world rankings for nothing,” said Klitschko, 33.

Chambers was provided the opportunity to fight Klitschko after he defeated Alexander Dimitrenko (29-1, 19KOs) by unanimous decision on July 4 in a WBO title eliminator bout.
Mike Cappiello, a native of Brockton who once fought for the IBO super featherweight championship and retired with an impressive mark of 33-6, contends that both Klitschko brothers are beatable.
“The Klitschko brothers can be beat,” said Cappiello, the owner of Cappiello Brothers Boxing gym in The City of Champions. “They are always on the outside not wanting to be hit because they know their chins aren’t the greatest.”
Many analysts have long believed that Wladimir Klitschko is a stiff and immobile fighter who can easily be rendered unconscious on the canvas by one solid blow to his kisser.
Nevertheless, Chambers is in absolutely repulsive physical condition and he does not possess the quickness or stamina to truly battle a pugilist the caliber of Klitschko.
Klitschko will inevitably punish the flabby Chambers and knock him onto Queer Street within nine rounds.
It is truly disgraceful that the pathetically conditioned Chambers has been granted the chance to become heavyweight champion of the world.
Fortunately, “Dr. Steelhammer” will preclude boxing from receiving another self-inflicted black eye this spring.
