Speaking of MVP’s he grabbed another one this year and led this team to what looked like an easy march through the playoffs. He looked completely focused as he single handedly dismantled the vaunted Jets defense. He is poised and ready to take on the Saints.

Drew Brees had a stat shattering season and led the Saints to the first superbowl in franchise history. That was impressive enough but his offensive numbers are staggering. He spreads the ball all over the field and will hit any receiver with pin point accuracy. He is the leader in the locker room and on the field and will be ready for the Colts when the superbowl kicks off.

So who has the edge in the Superbowl XLIV?

When you compare the statistics it looks pretty even. The Peyton Manning-led Colts offense ranked No. 9 in total yards (363.1), No. 2 in passing (282.2) and No. 7 in scoring (26.0) during a 14-2 regular season. The Drew Brees-led Saints offense was No. 1 in total yards (403.8) and points (31.9), No. 4 in passing (272.2) and No. 6 in rushing yards (128.6) during a 13-3 regular season.

We could argue until we are blue in the face about who the better quarterback is so instead I am going to make a wager on a prop bet.

I am going to go with Drew Brees. The reasons are simple why I choose him over Peyton Manning in the big game. The Saints rely on a heavy dose of Drew Brees to get points and never mix it up. He has more explosive running backs that can bust screens for large chunks of yardage and he will throw more than Manning. The Colts throw all the time to but the Saints can be vulnerable to the run so I look for the Colts to mix in more than normal for this game. The Saints have better corner backs and the better safety than the Colts and there will be better coverage coming from the Saints side of the ball. This does not mean I think the Colts are going to win but I do think Drew Brees will have more passing yards than Peyton manning in Superbowl XLIV.
