The Top Five wrestlers in the business today: #3 Batista

BATISTA. Thats right my #3 pick for the Top Five wrestlers in the business today is "The Animal" Batista. The Animal is one of the most popular stars in the WWE in recent years, and has been involved in the world title scene for the past 3 years.

Batista started his WWE career on Smackdown following D-Von around and not doing much of anything. Until he moved over to Raw in late 2002.  On Raw he caught the eye of Triple H and Ric Flair. Batista, along with Randy Orton, became apart of Triple H's new stable Evolution. In Evolution Batista faced the likes of Goldberg, Kane, and Shawn Michaels. In late 2003 Batista started teaming with fellow Evolution member Ric Flair. The two went on the hold the World Tag Team Championship twice. Batista keep busy in 2004 doing Triple H's biding, even going as far as kicking Randy Orton out of Evolution for "stealing" Triple H's title.

Things started to change for Batista not long after Randy's departure. It all started at New Year's Revolution. The Elimination Chamber match was down to three competitors, Triple H, Randy Orton, and Batista. Randy and Batista were brawling. Randy hit the low blow and then and RKO on Batista. While all this was transpiring Triple H was perched in a corneran neglected to help his evolution buddy. Triple H then pinned Randy and recaptured "his title". The next night on Raw Randy showed Batista the footage of Triple H not assistinghim after randy RKO'ed him. Things only went down hill from here for Triple H. Batista won the 2005 Royal Rumble last eliminating John Cena, Batista would be main eventing Wrestlemania 21. Now all he has to do is pick which title he wants to challenge for. JBL's WWE Title or Triple H's World Heavyweight Title. Triple H orchestrated several stunts, making it look like JBL was "out to get" Batista, thus provoking Batistato sign with Samckdown. Batista then overheard Triple H and Flair talking about how they had tricked Batista. When signing the contract Batistaappeared to be signing with smackdown, but gave Triple H the same thumbs down they gave Randy Orton several months before. Now it was full speed ahead for Batista. At Wrestlemania 21 Batista beat his former mentor and Became "The Man". After beating Triple H 2 more times once at Backlash and again in "Hell in a Cell" at Vengeance Batista was shipped of to Smackdown. There he feuded with the likes of JBL, The last great Eddie Guerrero, and his former partner Randy Orton. Batista was forced to relinquish his prized title in early 2006 after injuring himself in a match with "The World Strongest Man" Mark Henry.

Batista would return in mid-2006 and didn't wast any time fooling around, his targets were right on the World Heavyweight Championship and the man who held it, Booker T. It would take Batista the rest of the year to finally recapture his title, winning it in the same city he relinquished it in. Philadelphia. Batista's title reign would not be a long one though because the "Deadman" had his sights set on Batista's World Title. The two ended up stealing the show at Wrestlemania 23 although Batista came out on the l losing side, and becoming Undertaker's 15th victim at Wrestlemania.

Batista would remain in the title scene for most of 2007. Chasing Undertaker, Edge, and The Great Kahli. Batista regained the World H heavyweight  championship at Unforgiven Beating Rey Mysterio and Kahli in a triple threat match. This would be Batista's 3rd title reign. Unfortunately for Batista this reign would be even shorter than the last  l losing the title to the returning Edge at Armageddon in another triple threat match also involving The Undertaker.

In recent months Batista has been getting in the face of HBK for retiring Ric Flair. The two ended up feuding for several months having a couple of  good matchs and confrontations. In June Batista was drafted to Raw were [ hopefully] he will pick up his feud with HBK and Y2J.

Batista is extremely entertaining and has always had the fans on his's side. He will undoutfuly be remember for being one of the better big man WWE has seen in recent years.
