How Long Before Kevin and Delana Harvick Take KHI to Sprint Cup?
In no way am I implying anything in this article. I am merely writing about my favorite Craftsman/Nationwide Team.
It's more a poll than anything else. So when you respond, mention "Yes" or "No" and what you think.
Consider that KHI was started in 2001 with one truck built in Ed Berrier's Garage. Five full-time years with two part-time years added in, and already they are a championship winning organization.
The reason for all their success is simple. It's the combination of Delana and Kevin that makes it work. Although opposites, they are like two pieces of a puzzle that you fit together and it works like magic. No, really it's the combination of her knowledge and his passion that makes it happen.
From what I have read about KHI, I get the impression that everyone's family. Especially with Rick Carelli and Ron Hornaday being part of KHI.
Let me add that KHI has done some things few would have tried. They started in Craftsman Truck Series, gained their sea legs, and built up to the Nationwide series.
I should also note that whether in Craftsman or Nationwide with a few exceptions, they have run teams with a number of talented regulars in all three series.
They found success in Nationwide, winning races with Tony Stewart twice and Bobby Labonte once. In a three-year span with the 33 car in the Nationwide Owners Points. They have one sixth place and two 10th place finishes and the currently parked 77 car. They also had one 15th place finish.
Not bad results, when you realize it is with three to four drivers and not racing with just one driver. Now the big announcement from KHI in '08 was that Kevin would be driving the 33 car in 22 Nationwide races.
Given their success it is easy to see why, with the fast success Kevin Harvick, Incorporated has achieved. It's only a matter of time before Kevin talks to Delana about taking KHI to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
