Why Steelers Fans Should Be Rooting For the Indianapolis Colts

PART 4 OF 4

Iย shouldย have been more clear when I wrote part one.ย I am writing articles as to why Steelers fans can cheer for each of the four teams remaining in the playoffs.

The Indianapolis Colts are entering the AFC Championship game to play against the New York Jets, and here is why Steelers fans should be cheering for the Colts.

The Indianapolis Colts will be hosting the New York Jets this weekend, with the winner of the contest to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.

There are many reasons as to why Steelers fans should be cheering for Peyton Manning and the Colts to defeat the New York Jets.

First off, there is Peyton Manning. He is one of the best signal callers in the game, and there is no question, that if the Colts win, Manning will cement his legacy as one of the best to ever play the position.

After that, the only real reasons I can give, is to show my disdain to the Jets.

As Lori Matta-Rhode pointed out in her article , the Jets backed into the playoffs, and don't deserve to be in the Super Bowl. She is correct.

Rex Ryan, along with his family ties, (Dadโ€”Buddy, hated Oilers coach for many years, and twin brother Robโ€”D Coordinator of the Browns) are even more reason not to want the Jets to win.

Rex is the former coordinator of the Ravens, which that tie alone is enough reason for the Steelers to hate them.

And, as Lori states, Jets green is an ugly color.

There is one reason that she left out, that is really the only reason that I need to give. The Jets not only took away Alan Faneca, but they tried to take Chris Kemoeatu as well.

Sure, Faneca left because of the hiring of Mike Tomlin over Russ Grimm. The Jets still offered him more money ($1 million per year) than the Steelers were offering. They offered Kemo more money, but Kemo wanted to stay in Pittsburgh.

But, to me, the biggest reason of all, is Neil O'Donel. After O'Donel (I don't care if I spelled his name wrong, I hate him, and he does not deserve to have it spelled correctly.) threw Super Bowl XXX against the Cowboys, the Jets signed O'Donel, and that is enough reason alone to hate the franchise forever.

And reality is, if you are a team that cheers for the AFC, regardless of who is playing, in the Super Bowl, the Colts will at least have a shot against the offensive powers of the NFC.
