Derrick Rose: The Right Decision for the Chicago Bulls

The Bulls' selection of Derrick Rose was the perfect, and only, choice for this team.  The drafting of the star point guard, who played high school ball at local Simeon, was the perfect fit for a team that has playoff-caliber talent.

Selecting Rose was right on two fronts.

One: He was the hometown star that was the third-rated player coming out of high school by Rivals.  The only players ahead of him—Michael Beasley and Eric Gordon.

Two: His emergence in the NCAA Tournament two months ago proved his playmaking and leadership skills.  On Memphis' way to the title game, Rose stepped up each game and got better.  He made UCLA's Darren Collison and Texas' D.J. Augustin look like junior varsity players.

With Chicago's influx of young, talented players like Gordon, Deng, Thomasm and Noah, the Bulls will no doubt be a good team.
