Evgeny Grachev didn't take long to make an impression.
The 18-year-old Russian center, selected by the Rangers, with the 75th overall pick, has already proven himself not shy about setting lofty expectations.

That's a statement either full of confidence, if you're from New York City, or conceit if you live elsewhere.
At 6'3, 210 lbs., Grachev was an imposing physical presence on the ice while playing for the Russian Junior League.
He is known for a physical style of play and likes to drive to the net—something the Rangers always seem to lack.
Although, many scouts believed that Grachev was worthy of a higher pick, they also believed he might be difficult to lure out of Russia.
Ryan Kennedy of The Hockey News described him as a "battleship" of a player.
Shortly after arriving in New York, both Grachev and his agents seemed to put that issue to rest.
"I am happy with my draft, great team, great city," said Grachev. "I really want to play in the NHL with the Rangers."
Grachev, who is not under contract next year in Russia, says he will likely play in Canada next season gaining experience for his NHL career.
