New York Rangers Going Back in Time
I can't believe that the New York Rangers are willing to let Sean Avery just go. He is just 28, and has been nothing but an energizer, leader, and winner for the Rangers. Sure he has some baggage, but it defiantly isn't ego.
He likes to antagonize the other teams, especially their goaltenders. But so what? When you're like 35-12 with him in the lineup and under .500 without him, it defiantly shows what he does for your team.
It is a bad business move for your team, for the organization, and the fans.

Avery has become a fan favorite and someone that New Yorkers can relate to. He is a guy who will do anything to win and loves to run his mouth while doing it. He might talk a lot, and that may annoy the NHL and maybe some veterans on the Rangers, but who cares, they aren't helping the Rangers win a cup anyway.
But I guess that doesn't matter, he is not liked by Sather, so he won't be back. Let's hope he doesn't end up in a Devil or Islander jersey, and we have to see him eight times a year in front of King Henrik.
Speaking of veterans not doing anything, the Rangers have targeted Mats Sundin. Now, I always liked Sundin and he has been nothing but a great player and leader for the Maple Leafs. However, after saying that, the Rangers don't need another veteran getting over paid, especially another center.
So I would just let Sundin go. Yes 32 goals and 46 assists are great stats, but he is another year older, and as Ranger fans know from the past, we need younger, faster skaters who can keep up with the Crosbys and Ovechkins.
It looks like Sather is going to open up the MSG wallet like others in the past, (example: Isaiah), and just go after veterans and anyone else he can sign. By doing that, he might think he's helping, but really he is just hurting the team.
Just because he replaces Avery with Sundin doesn't mean this team will automatically win. What it does mean is that that there won't be anyone in front of the net for the Rangers anymore.
I don't know about you, but I'm sick of spending money. I want to see the young kids play. And I especially want to see a cup winning team before the usual 54 years.
