Today (2009): Donovan McNabb Pulls the Infamous “Sideline Telephone” Stunt

This time last year, the Philadelphia Eagles were alive in the NFL postseason.  Today, not so much.  Nevertheless, today we celebrate the Eagles’ 23-11 victory over the reigning Super Bowl Champs because the game contained one of the stranger moments in Donovan McNabb’s career.

The infamous “sideline phone incident“.

Truth be told, the real hero in this whole performance was the Giants’ secondary/cornerbacks coach, Peter Guinta, who displayed a healthy portion of restraint, despite his urge to jam a can of Chunky’s soup up McNabb’s tailpipe.
