Bright Times Must Surely Come on Stockport's Horizon
Edgeley Park surely must be one of the darkest places in the Football League at this moment in time. But is there a way out for Stockport in the current finanical state they are found in?
News today that Peter Thompson (picture) has returned to Linfield, Oli Johnson is on the move to East Anglia and join Paul Lambert at Norwich, Carl Baker, one of the brightest players is League One, is on the verge of joining Chris Coleman at Coventry and with alot of rumours floating around about other players going surely Stockport are in dire straits
Rumours around today say that club captain Michael Raynes is on his way to Scunthorpe, Johnny Mullins is being watched by a number of club, Daniel Pilkington is on his way to joining his brother, Anthony, at Huddesfield, and various other rumours floating round, is there a way forward at thie present time for Stockport.
The Melrose Consortium are tipped to be taking the reins at Edgeley Park within the next two weeks but are they going to be facing a losing cause are Stockport's League form taking a dent and with 12 league games without a win, surely Gary Ablett must be thinking towards League Two for next season
Gary Ablett has said to be looking into signing new players to replace the players going out, but with no finances in the club, he surely must be looking at the loan market or even free agents like ex Stockport front man Anthong Elding who was recently released by Crewe.
I wrote an article on Hard Times at Edgeley Park this time last year and I think these hard times are definatly here. Let's hope there is a silver lining for Stockport.
