Pat White Concussion and Injury Update: Dolphins QB Released From Hospital

Tim HealeyJan 4, 2010

Miami Dolphins quarterback Pat White is out of the hospital after suffering a concussion after taking a vicious helmet-to-helmet hit from the Pittsburgh Steelers' Ike Taylor yesterday, according to various reports. White attended the team's final regular-season meeting today, a day after the Dolphin's season ended with a 30-24 loss to the Steelers.

The rookie had replaced Chad Henne, who had left the game with an eye injury. While scrambling, White was tripped up by Lawrence Timmons. While on his way out of bounds, he was struck by Taylor, who had stepped up to finish the play.

Concussions have been a hot topic around the NFL and this play may bring the issue further into the spotlight. Incidentally, the NFL and House Judiciary Committee will likely meet this week to discuss the use of new helmet designs to reduce head trauma.
