Mississippi Rebels vs. Oklahoma State Cowboys: Picks and 2010 Cotton Bowl Odds
The Mississippi Rebels are in the Cotton Bowl for the second straight year on January 2nd.
While that sounds great, it’s not exactly where they wanted to be earlier in the year. They were once ranked as high as No. 5 nationally and had National Title hopes at one point.
After some disappointing losses, their dreams were smashed. Many considered them a disappointment overall. The Oddsmakers currently have the Rebels as 3 point favorites against the Cowboys. However, after some tough losses, they bounced back to win some solid games.
They will square off with the Oklahoma State Cowboys this year in a game that should be pretty evenly matched. The Rebels come in with an 8-4 record while the Cowboys come in at 9-3 and the No. 21 ranking in the country.
The Cowboys looked like a shell of themselves in their last game. Despite having a very strong and balanced offense all year, they were shut out 27-0 against the Oklahoma Sooners.
Not the way you want to play in your last game before the Cotton Bowl.
Oklahoma State once had high hopes for a better bowl, but after that blowout loss, it’s hard to justify anything higher. They’re led by quarterback Zac Robinson who has been a strong player for them for a long time.
Houston Nutt has led the Rebels to back-to-back Cotton Bowls and they have a very talented team. They are led by quarterback Jevan Snead, who has thrown for over 2,400 yards and 20 touchdowns this year. You might want to consider betting this game to go over the posted total of just 50.5 points. This one should be a very close game that goes down to the wire.
